EXTRA CREDIT

1. The man was killed by the subway train, the photographer took the photo to warn the subway driver with his flash to indicate the problem.

2. He took out his camera to capture the man's final moments and to alert the subway driver.

3. No, I don't think so because instead of taking the picture he should've just helped him up out of the way, but then again both of them could've died.

4. I think he did because he tried to get the driver's attention to slow down but at least he tried to stop the subway train.

5. I disagree because people from all over the country read the New York Post, and also the people who knew the man who died might of felt anger and sad about what happened recently to him and not want to see that on every corner of New York.

6. Most of it's important because you are most likely to not do much of help, because you have to think about yourself also but you also have a job to do and make it on the newspaper to see what people or things that are happening on that picture and explain why.

7. I don't think a photographer could be ethically involved in something like a situation. Because sometimes, a photographer might not know what to do in a strong situation, it could also make the situation worse.

8. A photographer should be influenced in an event, that is why they go and take pictures to describe on why the situation is happening.

9.  I think Stan Alost had the most explainable post, it has more details on why.

Lytro Warm Up & Ethics in Fashion photography

Warm-Up
1. When I clicked the picture mostly all it did was focus itself, it didn't do much.
2. This new camera works by taking closer pictures of things and get a good quality of it.
3. The photographer as to get really close of the object and get it to focus with the background. It may have to get on the ground or high up.
4. I think it is, if you like taking close pictures.

Fashion
 1. Some of the changes that were changed in the model's face was of course the makeup, and on Photoshop they made her eyes bigger, made her face skinnier and distorted a few things.
2. I think it is ethically possible because whoever wanted to be in the front cover of a magazine or ad they signed a contract to make changes of what so ever to their face, maybe just to get money. But I just think it's okay, as long it's their own decision.
 3. Yes, because it can also change the view of people out there and people expect to look exactly the same as an ad or magazine.
 4. Types of changes that are okay, were probably the hair and makeup and I really didn't like the Photoshop changes.
5. The differences between fashion photography and photojournalism is that fashion photography make a lot of changes to a picture and use mostly self portraits of people.
6. I guess this affects by posting up ads and on magazines. I don't really know.

ISO

ISO 200

ISO 3200

1. Most of the advantages of taking a picture with ISO is to have it on high, to be able to take a picture at night or having very little low light.
2. The author suggests to use a low ISO when you have enough light in the place you're going to take a picture of.
3. The author also suggests that when using a high ISO is mostly just to get a still photo or when the light is too low or dark.

I think F4 looks good on 1/250 with the second shutter because the photo looks more clearer.
F5.6 looks good with 1/125 the picture has the perfect light and you can see the background more clearer.
F8 is good with 1/60 you can the people more better and brighter.
F11 looks good with 1/60 because it is much darker.
F16 works with 1/30 it may look dark but it makes it darker and better.
F22 looks good with 1/15 cause of the lighting and the brightness.

American Soldier slide show and captions

1.  The picture where he was getting baptized because for me that's important and I think it's powerful because he's getting blessed before he goes back to the army and serve.

2. #2 13-30
    #3 53-69
    #4 71-83
These are powerful because it shows a lot of emotion in the pictures and how he struggled.

3.
 A. Ian is mostly in all the photos because it is telling a story plot on what is happening to him while he is in the army.
 B. Captions enhance the photos to tell a story and what is happening in the picture to explain more of it.

4.
Ian is resting in his uniform to get some extra sleep for the next day and continue his mission.

Ian's parents get a call that he is soon coming home.

Ian's dad is holding up a sign to show how much he loves him while waiting for him to arrive.

5.
A. These videos enhance more of the pictures because it shows more of the story and more details.
B. Videos are better than photographs because it has the movements, sounds and you can edit and add more of a story.
C. Photos can be better because the story that you're telling can be shorter and makes things simpler.

Self Portrait

1. The settings in which you make pictures of people are important because they add to the viewer's understanding of your subject.

2. Have fun with it. Be sexy. Be yourself. Be awesome. Be different. Be creative. Whatever you do, have fun with it. That’s part of the point, after all.

3. One way is to frame an interesting composition and then, with your compact camera mounted on a tripod or another means of support, use the self-timer (if your camera has one) to trip the shutter after you get into position in front of the lens.

What I really liked about this picture is how the guitar comes out and the guy has tattoos :o I find it real cool and the picture looks dramatic, in like a good way.

I like this picture also because I like how the background looks with the pretty dark colors, plus I love soccer and this picture reminds me of myself when I played soccer when I was about that little girl's age.

I really liked this one because how pretty the girl came out and it shows a little emotion but in a way it's a good self portrait.

I also liked this one because the girl seems to be thinking but it still counts as a self portrait.
